SUPPLIER CODE OF CONDUCT
Glenwood Electric is committed to conducting its business in an ethical, legal, and socially responsible manner. As such, we expect our suppliers and their employees to adhere to the highest standards of ethical conduct, environmental responsibility, and respect for human rights. The following Supplier Code of Conduct outlines the minimum expectations we have of our suppliers:
- Compliance with Laws and Regulations:
suppliers must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards in the regions where they operate.
- Equal Opportunity Employment:
suppliers must provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable laws. Suppliers must not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment based on any protected characteristic. Discrimination in hiring, compensation, promotion, termination, or any other aspect of employment is strictly prohibited.
- Diversity and Inclusion:
suppliers must demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of their business operations. Suppliers should strive to create a workplace that is welcoming and inclusive of individuals from diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, and veteran status. Suppliers are encouraged to promote supplier diversity by actively seeking to work with diverse suppliers, including those owned by minorities, women, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.
- Working Hours:
suppliers must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards regarding working hours, overtime, and rest periods in the regions where they operate.
- Ethical Conduct:
suppliers must conduct their business with integrity, honesty, and fairness. Bribery, corruption, extortion, and embezzlement in any form are strictly prohibited. Conflict of interest situations must be disclosed and managed appropriately.
- Labor Practices:
suppliers must uphold the fundamental human rights of their employees. Forced labor, child labor, and any form of human trafficking are strictly prohibited. Workers must be provided with fair wages and benefits in compliance with applicable laws.
- Occupational Health and Safety: suppliers must provide a safe and healthy work environment for their employees. Adequate measures must be taken to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.
- Environmental Responsibility: suppliers must minimize their environmental impact and strive to operate an environmentally responsible manner. Efforts should be made to conserve natural resources, reduce waste, and minimize pollution.
- Quality and Product Safety: suppliers must provide products and services that meet the highest quality and safety standards. Products must be safe for their intended use and comply with all relevant safety regulations.
- Confidentiality and Intellectual Property: suppliers must protect the confidentiality of Glenwood Electric’s proprietary information. Intellectual property rights of Glenwood Electric and third parties must be respected and protected.
- Social Responsibility: suppliers are encouraged to support the communities in which they operate through charitable activities and community engagement.
- Monitoring and Compliance:
Glenwood Electric reserves the right to monitor and audit supplier compliance with this Supplier Code of Conduct. Non-compliance with this Code may result in termination of the supplier relationship.
- Reporting Violations:
suppliers should promptly report any violations of this Code of Conduct to Glenwood Electric Management at the main office.
- Conflicts of Interest: suppliers must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest that may arise in the course of conducting business with Glenwood Electric. A conflict of interest may arise when an individual’s personal interests interfere or appear to interfere with the interests of Glenwood Electric.
- Compliance with Antitrust Laws: suppliers must comply with all applicable antitrust laws and regulations, including but not limited to laws prohibiting anti-competitive agreements, price-fixing, bid-rigging, and market allocation agreements.
- Anti-Money Laundering Laws:
suppliers must comply with all anti-money laundering laws and regulations in the regions where they operate. Money laundering, which involves the illegal process of making large amounts of money generated by criminal activity appear to have come from a legitimate source, is strictly prohibited.
- Non-Retaliation Policy:
suppliers must not retaliate against any employee or individual who, in good faith, reports a concern or violation of company policies, laws, or regulations. Retaliation includes, but is not limited to, termination, demotion, suspension, harassment, or discrimination.
